This painting was as made while we were staying in Helsinki, Finland. The muted greens, blues, and greys represent the colour palette of the season, while the pops of orange represent the bright orange buoys in the frozen harbour. There's a juxtaposition in the feeling of safety in this part of the world with the sometimes harsh weather conditions. I tried to imbue my painting with those feelings, with a reminder that while harsh, it is also beautiful.
